San Diego Church Night

         A new feature for 2008 Spirit West Coast was "San Diego Church Night" which happened on friday May 23rd , the first day

of the festival. This was the day that the festival reached out to local churches to link them to the event, while at the same time

providing specific opportunities and connection back to those local churches who became engaged in supporting and promoting

"San Diego Church Night" and the event.

       Festival Director "Jon Robberson" and local church leader "Dr. Jim Garlow" pastor of Skyline Church, released a joint statement

saying, "The Spirit West Coast festival has been a tremendous blessing to the Christian community of San Diego County. Due to a renewed

effort in connecting the event's vision to local church leadership, the 2008 event should spiritually impact the local church in a manner not experienced since the festival's local beginnings in 2004. San Diego Church Night is a perfect beginning for the weekend that will see many great things happen in people's lives as thousands from San Diego and beyond come together to worship and celebrate Jesus at the Del Mar Fairgrounds."  

                                                                  Special Information and Features of "San Diego Church Night :

Churches are invited to participate as a group and church body, engaging and connecting to the event in four main ways ( this is not a promotional opportunity for individuals). Churches will be asked to indicate that they ARE supporting the event by completing the short questionaire form at the end of this letter.

1. Supporting the event through prayer and fasting.

   The festival has issued a "Proclamation and Fasting," which is posted at the event web site, www.spiritwestcoast.org under the section(tab) titled "ministry".  Everyone and anyone is welcome and encouraged to pray and fast for the event, praying that great spiritual things will happen in thousands of lives. Churches should promote this aspect of the campaign to their congregation by including the info in the church bulletin and/or via power point on their video screens (images will be provided).

2. "Senior Pastors" can attend "San DiegoChurch Night" free of charge.

    For each church or fellowship that agrees to engage in this festival support campaign, their senior pastor and family will be invited to attend SD Church night. Spirit West Coast wants  ( senior pastors to experience the event ) , and what better way to do that and to connect to the Christian community of SD County than by attending "San Diego Church Night ?" Included with the free tickets will be free parking for one vehicle on Church night only.  See clarifications below.

3. Discounted tickets to "San Diego Church Night" .

    Churches that join the Festival/Church relationship and support team campaign will be given the opportunity to provide tickets for "San Diego Church Night" to their congregation at a substantial discount, virtually half price !  This will be done with a no obligation consignment of wristband tickets to the church. General admission wristband tickets will be discounted to 25$ (ages 13 and older) and 15$ for juniors (ages 6-12). Children 5 and under are FREE and will be receive their admission wristband on site as they enter the event. NOTE: the regular general admission price is 49 Dollars and 34 for juniors. This discount offer is for all departments at the church including the Youth Department, and is only available "Church Night". Churches should feel they can sell at least 20 tickets ( in total between all departments) in order to justify the time and involved in administering this opportunity.

4. VOLUNTEER recruitment: Spirit West Coast is asking the church community to spread the word regarding the need for adult volunteers (18 or older) to help make the event happen. Volunteers are especially needed in these areas of service: video camera operators, security and ushering, admissions and access control, and merchandise sales. It is required that Volunteers serve a portion of all three day's ( it's administratively impossible to facilitate volunteers for single days).                                                Details and clarifications regarding

1. Hours on church night are 2pm to 12am midnight and the line-up that day features Newsboys, Leeland and others with the evening message by Pastor Shawn Mitchell.

2. The special discount tickets offered for church night are ONLY for that date, not for the other 2 dates.

3. The FREE tickets offered to senior pastors are ONLY available to "Senior Pastors" and their immediate families (limited to no more than 4). Only pastors from San Diego County may participate in this offer. Those in the 919-921 area codes.

4. The free tickets for the senior pastor will be "will call", pick up on-site at a designated pick-up location to be announced at the time of confirmation. These tickets are not transferrable to any other person, :they are for senior pastors only.

5. These tickets cannot be exchanged for other dates and discount tickets for church night are not available at the local bookstore outlet, The Berean Christian Store and are not available at the on-site box office and are not for individuals buying appart from a church group consignment.

           Spirit West Coast is a three day Christian music festival that takes place on Memorial Day weekend at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego. This huge event features concerts on nine stages by over 50 artists including Toby Mac, Newsboys, Third Day, and dozens of others. Speakers include evangelist David Nasser , local pastors Shawn Mitchell and Dr. Jim Garlow, plus "new generation" authors and seminar speakers, 19 year old twin brothers Alex and Brett Harris.
