KEN MAPLES Kenneth Frank Maples Jr. was born in Detroit, Michigan, and at the age of three moved to California. He lived in Azusa, California until the age of twelve when he and his family moved to Charter Oak, a community in Covina, California. Ken attended Cedar Grove Middle School, Charter Oak High School, Citrus College, and Mt. San Antonio College. He graduated from Citrus College with an Associates Degree. Ken was given his first guitar at the age of ten by his grandfather. At the age of thirteen he started playing in his first band. He was strongly influenced by rhythm and blues, and his love for music only grew with the English invasion. At age sixteen he was in his first Battle of the Bands, and began playing clubs at eighteen. Shortly thereafter Ken began spending time in recording studios as a session musician. Ken has played in most Hollywood clubs including Guizarries and The Ice House. Ken has played for Presidential Rallies and opened for Van Halen and Motley Crue ! Ken than began recording and playing in the band G.I., releasing a single and getting air time on KLOS. Ken Maples and Steve Arthur played music together on and off throughout high school, and were separated when Steve’s parents moved to San Diego. In 1994 they were reunited at a friend’s home for a party, and found that they were both fully committed to Jesus Christ, and they have been writing music together and performing at churches all around Southern California and San Diego County ever since. Ken has headed music teams for The Walk to Emmaus, Chrysalis, and Kairos Prison Ministry, and started his Music Ministry in 2004, when he was recruited by Incubator Creative Group in Oregon. He built a solid foundation of prayer and support, and began defining his ministry. Ken is now a graduate affiliate and on the Artist Roster. With Incubator he has built a music ministry on integrity through friendships with churches, Christian rallies, retreats, and special concerts around California. He is looking forward to another year of sharing the gospel and expanding God’s territory through word and song. |
